Little Gamers is doing something..

Christian Fundin and Pontus Madsen make the webcomic Little Gamers. I stumbled across their corner of the Dayfree Press table at Comic Con and noticed they had a book for sale. I wasn’t familiar with their work so I passed on it, but had I known what they were doing, I would have picked it up there. The book encompasses the first 300 or so strips of their comic and now that they have covered the printing costs, they are offering the book as a PDF for free download on their website.

That’s right. 300 jokes weighing in at 26 MB available as a straight download or in bittorrent form. This strikes me as an excellent idea and it is wonderfully executed.

A fine example of unchanging art style (Originally considered to be a south park rip-off), Little Gamers is my new found pleasure. With over a thousand strips in archive, I have got a lot of backlog to catch up on, so download the book, consider pitching some money their way, and I’ll see you there.

Def a great and unique comic and they really do have awesome ideas. I’ve read it all so far and and can download the book, but I may just buy one anyway, its worth the money.

I got the book and love it… i bought it about 2 weeks before they put it up free… normally i would be put out but it’s still great, and as i asked nicely - mr madsen autographed it for me… lets hope the idea catches on though.

I only discovered it at San Diego International Comic Con where I met them at the Dayfree Press table. Nice folk, and Pontus drew me a nice sketch in my sketch book, scans of which can be found here: http://www.confabulators.com/2005/in-lieu-of-day-two

I love the idea of selling enough to pay off the investment then making it available for free as well (albeit in a digital format).
