I couldn't thank you more for the beautiful and haunting, "Basements V.2" that you've assembled here. Just more evidence that Elliot Smith found a unique place somewhere between the Beatles and Nick Drake, and wove something timeless. A must have for any Smith fan. Stripped, simple and astonishing.

I've been lucky enough to find two versions of "True Love" and upon first listening didn't seem to be any sadder than some of Elliott's earlier music. Upon reading the lyrics and listening a few more times it's got to be one of my favorites from him. Truly brilliant and heartbreaking.

Thanks so much for the basementII tracks, by the way!
